The Blood Pump…

“She walks in beauty like the night of cloudless chimes and starry skies; and all that’s best of dark and bright meet in her aspect and her eyes: Thus mellowed to that tender light which heaven to gaudy day denies.” – Lord Byron, Don Juan (canto I, st. 61).

Someone should seriously invest in the creation of a drug that remedies this chemical imbalance.

There is something sinister about the way our minds and our hearts both secretly yet not-so-secretly plot to destroy our psyches from within. The mind, knowing rationality, logic, reason and reality can see and comprehend what we cannot have, while the heart pollutes us with feelings and emotions, skipping a beat at her mere presence and consistently and constantly reminding us that they are just out of our reach.

And how do I continue to deny myself these unrequited feelings that will certainly lead to my self-destruction, my doom and my downfall?

Why the heart holds such a grudge against my mind is beyond my realm of acceptance and comprehension and perhaps I am truly and ultimately hopeless and damned! Condemned to torture myself with these suppressed notions and visions and desires.

No. I do not like this, I scream into the mirror hanging on my bathroom wall and it screams back: “But you need this!”, it screams back…
